Town Hall Meeting, May 30, Fraser Surrey Docks Direct Transfer Coal Facility Proposal

New Westminster residents are invited to learn more about the proposed Fraser Surrey Docks direct transfer coal facility and share their views at a special Town Hall meeting.

Thursday, May 30th at 7:00 p.m
Douglas College Theatre
700 Royal Avenue, New Westminster.

The Town Hall meeting will be hosted by
  • Peter Julian, MP (Burnaby-New Westminster)
  • Fin Donnelly, MP (New Westminster-Coquitlam-Port Moody)
  • Judy Darcy, MLA-elect (New Westminster)
  • the City of New Westminster.
Representatives from Metro Vancouver, Fraser Health, the environmental community and Fraser Surrey Docks have been invited to participate. The Town Hall meeting will also be web-broadcast live on New West TV. Viewers may access the web feed at and clicking on the COAL icon.

Pattullo Bridge Review - PlaceSpeak

The City of New Westminster, City of Surrey and TransLink are working together to review and evaluate potential alternatives to rehabilitate or replace the Pattullo Bridge and to determine a solution that meets the needs of communities connected by the bridge, as well as the broader region served by the bridge.

Annual Heritage Homes Tour and Tea, Sunday, May 26th

The New Westminster Heritage Preservation Society presents its 34th Annual Heritage Homes Tour and Tea on Sunday, May 26th, from 10 to 5.

Tickets are $35 and are available at various locations including:

  • Royal City Colours
  • Irving House
  • GardenWorks (Lougheed Hwy. and Mandeville sites in Burnaby), and
  • Cadeaux Gifts

Tickets are also available for sale online, starting May 8th.
